Giving Circles -MENA is a member-led, social impact platform where philanthropists and vetted local nonprofit organizations, who are closest to the issues and who know where and how to find the most vulnerable quickly, come together to make change. Our main aim is to pool funds, time and knowledge from all participants to transfer locally led ideas to reality.

About the role

Giving Circles MENA is seeking dynamic membership and engagement officer to help attract and increase the number of paid members. This role involves effective communication of the Giving Circles’ value across our diverse audience base, promoting membership benefits, engaging with members, facilitating events, and maintaining active communication with participants. Responsibilities

  1. Membership Management
    Research potential members, including donors, grant-making organizations, philanthropic organizations, international organizations, corporate funders among others. Develop a trackable potential members list and provide recommendations on the best approach. Develop a trackable potential members list and provide recommendations on the best approach. Proactively connect through arranging meetings, follow-up calls/emails, and personalized communication.
  2. Communication Activities
    Actively engage with members and extended audience by utilizing various channels such as social media (1-2 posts a week / channel), email marketing, and content marketing to promote circles’ activities and results. 1-2 engaging social media posts weekly with increased interaction such as likes, comments and sharing.
  3. Events Management and Research
    The role also requires the officer to facilitate and administer events, help enrich dialogues between participants of any assigned giving circle, and maintain participants’ interests through sharing updates, knowledge, resources, infographics, summaries and articles.

Skills and Education

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, sociology, public policy, business development, development communications.
  • You should have excellent communication, marketing, moderation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in international development / development cooperation, international and philanthropic organizations, corporate social responsibility, etc.
  • Fundraising and proposal writing is an asset.
  • Time management and ability to prioritize and work with multiple tasks
  • Excellent English language skills

Others

  • Duration: The job is for a one-year duration, extendable. The first 3 months serve as a probation period.
  • Work Schedule: This is a full-time position currently administered in a hybrid fashion. The hybrid approach may change to full-time office presence based on business needs and at the discretion of the project manager.
  • Performance Evaluation: The job includes quarterly merit evaluations based on agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Bonus: Additional bonus will be provided based on the increased membership base.
